Wyckoff Cyclist Struck on West Ridgewood Avenue

Bicyclist suffered what police said were "moderate" injuries when struck by a car in Ridgewood Wednesday night.

A 55-year-old male was sent to the hospital after being struck by a motor vehicle on West Ridgewood Avenue Wednesday night.

The bicyclist, of Wyckoff, was traveling east on West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood, when a vehicle turning left from West Ridgewood onto Clinton Avenue struck him, said.

The driver, a 21-year-old Ridgewood woman, was issued a citation for failing to yield to oncoming traffic, police said on scene.

Police described the bicyclist's injuries as moderate and not life threatening. He was transported to Valley Hospital by Ridgewood EMS.

The identities of the individuals involved in the accident were not immediately available.
