Bio
I've been editor of Ridgewood Patch since summer of 2010 and since have covered everything under the Ridgewood sun – contentious Valley Hospital hearings, Graydon Pool theatrics, zoning and development challenges, crime, education, county politics, the state of the Ridgewood downtown, and much, much more.
For a town of about 25,000 people, Ridgewood sure has a lot of issues up for debate. Between parking problems, downtown vacancies, pedestrian safety matters, budget cuts, rising taxes, development proposals, Graydon Pool, and the unresolved issue of Valley Hospital's expansion aims, there's no shortage of challenges weighing on the minds of residents, and there's often much division on the possible solutions to those challanges.
[Note: Ridgewood and Glen Rock Patch merged in December of 2011, so I'll be covering Glen Rock as well. Please feel free to reach out by calling or e-mailing me.]

Hey James,
When GR Patch was it's own I used to get daily emails from Joe about what was going on in town. Do you do that for the new Ridgewood Glen Rock Patch and if so how do I get on that list?

I want my GLEN ROCK PATCH back! This format is not working. Our town is lost in this merger. The purpose of the patch was for each town to have its own news and events posted. Please reactivate the Glen Rock Patch.

Hey James, I heard there was a FBI raid this morning in Hawthorne on Rock Road. Can you get the scoop on this? Rock Road is near Ridgewood and Hawthorne doesn't have a patch

James,
Regarding your Ridgewood Water article. You reported that RW's operational inadequacies are the reason that customers are paying thousands of dollars for past water usage. Billing that, not surprisingly, arrives just under the 6.5 year statue of limitations for doing so. And apparently 'we the people' have no recourse? So, on top of a 'rate hike' and the continued random levels of arsenic in our water, the 'public' will now need to 'read' their own meters to avoid this action in the future. This you should publicize as well this since RW is doing a piss poor job of communicating this to their customers as well. Thanks you for your article.
