County's 'Gingerbread Creation Contest' Coming to McFaul Environmental Center

May the best gingerbread house win.

This holiday season, Wyckoff will play host to some of the most artistic gingerbread houses county enthusiasts have to offer.

Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan and the Board of Chosen Freeholders recently announced a county-wide "Gingerbread Creation Contest," which will take place at Wyckoff's McFaul Environmental Center.

Locals wanting to show off their holiday culinary flair must register to participate by Nov. 25.

Entries have to be dropped off at McFaul between Dec. 2 and 8, and will be on display through Dec. 29. Visitors to the Center will vote for their favorite houses in four age categories, and the People’s Choice votes will decide the winners.

Teams of no more than eight members can enter in the Ages 3 to 6, 7 to 11, 12 to 16, and Adult categories.

Gingerbread houses entered in the competition do not necessarily need to look like traditional houses, but they must be edible.
