Franklin Lakes School District Students Get Early Access to Nurses

Early access to school nurses provides the opportunity for parents to discuss specific children's medical needs, get answers to paperwork questions, and deliver medications.

The Franklin Lakes School District has set up students with early access to school nurses with the hope of preparing for a healthier and more satisfying September opening, according to the district superintendent.

In a letter to parents District Superintendent Frank Romano reminded parents that students — especially those with life threatening and even serious needs — are required to have medical paperwork and medications delivered to the school prior to their attending of classes.

In what Romano called a "new opportunity for [parents] to connect with school nurses and tend to your children’s medical matters prior to the start of school" the district has scheduled a month of early availability for parents and students to meet with the nurses in their schools.

This provides the opportunity for parents to discuss specific children's medical needs, get answers to paperwork questions, and deliver medications.
