Kate Vasilik, Neighbor

Kate Vasilik is a Teen Librarian at Franklin Lakes Public Library.  She has a degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey, and she earned her Masters of Information and Library Science from Rutgers University in 2005.  As a Teen Librarian, she develops the collection of books and audio materials aimed at the interests and needs of teens and young adults, organizes programs (ranging from book clubs to gaming) for middle and high school aged youth, and communicates with schools and local outside organizations for the goal of benefiting the overall educational, literary, and social development of teens and young adults. 

Kate has always loved to read for fun and never outgrew a love of teen literature.  Outside of the library, she spends a lot of time with family and friends all over the state of New Jersey.  Her triplet nieces were born in August 2009 and have been the loves of her life ever since.  She also takes road trips out of state any chance she gets, and her dream is to be able to travel all over the world (twelve countries down, lots more to go).
