Former Gov. Whitman: Vote For Women, Minorities and Chris Christie

New Jersey's only female governor spoke at the Bergen County Women's Republican Club's 90th anniversary celebration.

Former Gov. Christie Todd Whitman urged attendees at the Bergen County Women's Republican Club's 90th anniversary celebration Wednesday to vote for minorities, women and Gov. Chris Christie.  "We need people with different life experiences, with different ways of thinking, to be at that [decision-making] table," Whitman said during her keynote address at Seasons in Washington Township. Whitman, New Jersey's first and only female governor, said she supported more women and citizens from minority groups running for office and also voiced support for Governor Christie in his run for re-election against Democrat Sen. Ugh - Bob? Whitman was a Republican. Remains a Republican. I will agree that she was one of the worst governors in NJ history and probably the worst political appointment, short of Brown as head of FEMA, made by Bush at head the EPA, a position she was so unqualified for even she admitted to it. YMCA Bringing Ladies Night to Seasons

The fun-filled event is being hosted by the Wyckoff Y for the 18th year.

The Wyckoff YMCA is throwing a Ladies Night party at Seasons in Washington Township on Thursday, on March 7 at 6:30 p.m. The event promises to be for a fun night of great food, music, karaoke, dancing and basket raffles.   Tickets cost $60 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, wine, beer and dessert.   All proceeds will directly benefit the Y’s scholarship fund. Assemblyman Schroeder Charged With Writing $400k In Bad Checks

State Assemblyman Robert Schroeder wrote almost $400,000 in bad checks, according to the state attorney general.

New Jersey State Assemblyman Robert Schroeder was charged Friday with writing almost $400,000 worth of bogus checks, according to a press release from the state attorney general's office. Schroeder allegedly wrote the checks to people who invested in his Hillsdale-based company, All Points International Distributors. The company manufactures pre-fabricated structures. Most of the company's business has been with the federal government, according to the press release. Schroeder said he wrote two checks totalling about $100,000 because he believed the U.S. Army had wired him money owed for a contract, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
