Ramapo High School Senior Caitlyn Hickey signed a national letter of intent on Nov. 14 to play softball on an athletic scholarship at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Caitlyn is expected to play middle infield/first base for UMass, a Division 1 softball program that is often a top competitor. UMass Coach Sortino was attracted to Caitlyn due to her athletic abilities and versatility to play several positions, according to Caitlyn's mother Holly.
