Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Applications Available

Seniors and juniors across the state are eligible for this $1,000 scholarship

Applications for the New Jersey League of Municipalities’s Louis Bay II Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship are available. The $1,000 scholarship aims to raise awareness of municipal government and various elected and volunteer positions. The competition is open to high school juniors and seniors statewide. Interested students can pick up an application at Ramapo High School or at the Wyckoff Municipal Clerk’s office in town hall. In order to win the scholarship applicants are tasked with writing a 500-word essay on the theme “What My Mayor and Governing Body Do Best.” The essay is due to the administrator’s office and addressed to Mayor Rudy Boonstra by March 8. YMCA Awards Scholarship to Olivia Rutler

Ramapo senior awarded Dr. Roger E. Clarke Scholarship

Olivia Rutler, a senior at Ramapo High School was recently awarded the Wyckoff Y’s Dr. Roger E. Clarke Scholarship Award for her role as a “Goodwill Ambassador” in our community. Olivia is an accomplished cellist and has shared her musical talents over the years in nursing homes, with the underprivileged and throughout her high school career in Ramapo’s band and orchestra programs, according to YMCA Director of Public Relations.  She has been deeply involved in a variety of community service activities both on her own and with her family, including the Gift of Life program, in which children from other countries come to the U.S. for lifesaving heart surgeries; as well as supporting her family as they hosted exchange students from other …

Last Chance to Win A Chamber Scholarship

Deadline has been extended to April 30

The Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce recently extended the deadline to apply for one of four four scholarships to high school seniors planning to further their education. Three $500 scholarships will be offered to students who are Wyckoff residents. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a child of a Wyckoff Chamber member or the employee (student) of a Wyckoff Chamber member, regardless of their town of residence, according to Wyckoff Chamber Business Administrator Barbara Petruccelli. Y, Chamber of Commerce Offer a Taste of Wyckoff

Eateries showcase their offerings at charitable 'Palette to Palate' event

The Wyckoff Family YMCA and Chamber of Commerce hosted a night of culture for residents Friday, with art, music, jewelry, a wine station and food from the township’s eateries.   From the Blue Moon Mexican Café to Chocolate Etc. to A&S Fine Foods, attendees got a variety of tastes as they enjoyed live music from a local Eagles cover band, Mary’s Basement. They were even able to enter into a raffle for art pieces. “This is a wonderful event that brings the community together and gives us a chance to mingle,” former educator and attendee Nancy Drabik said.
