Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive Being Held Saturday
Items needed most include bedding, clothing and cleaning supplies.
Oakland's Dan Mason and the group behind OaklandNJflood.com are organizing an ongoing drive to help collect essential items for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Last weekend the group, with the help of the Oakland Braves, collected much-neded goods and delivered them to Staten Island, where Hurricane Sandy destroyed the homes of many. "I hope that ultimately we will expand this effort, with the help of local businesses and our extensive helping community, to be prepared to help victims in advance of disasters," Mason said. Another drive will be taking place on Saturday Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Danny D’Elia Building, 24 Lawlor Drive, in Oakland.
