Harold Galenkamp, Former Wyckoff Mayor, Dead at 72
Galenkamp was an active member of the Wyckoff community in various ways throughout his life.
Harold Galenkamp, five-time mayor of Wyckoff, died Friday. He was 72. Galenkamp was a lifelong resident and active member of the community in Wyckoff. In addition to his time on the township committee, he also volunteered with the Sicomac Engine Company of the Wyckoff Fire Department and was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church. Galenkamp ran the former Sicomac Dairy, worked as an aid for Senator Henry McNamara and served in the Bergen County government, according to his obituary. Township Committeeman Kevin Rooney called Galenkamp "a true asset" to the town. "Harold was a dear friend and he's going to be truly missed by myself, my family and the residents of Wyckoff," Rooney said. Former Mayor Chris DePhillips said Galenkamp's service…

My condolences to Harold's family and many friends. Harold was one of the finest men I have known. He served Wyckoff for many years with distinction and honor. He served his neighbors on Fire Company 3. He loved his family with all his heart. If you knew Harold you knew he always had a smile. Everyone he met he had an ear for and smile for.
