‘Fight for Frank’ Fundraiser to Help Football Star Fight Cancer

The March 20 event will include a lineup of auction items such as Broadway tickets and trips to Florida and Las Vegas

A group working to raise $200,000 for a local man fighting a rare form of brain cancer says it is about halfway to its fundraising goal, and that an upcoming event should help add to the growing effort. On March 20, Fight for Frank — a group set up to help Mahwah High School grad Frank Chamberlin and his family — will host a dinner and auction fundraiser at the Venetian in Garfield. According to organizers, the items up for auction are impressive, and include trips to Costa Rica, Florida and Las Vegas, signed sports memorabilia, golf outings, Broadway tickets, sporting event and television talk show recording tickets, over 100 gift certificates and items donated by local merchants. “We are really excited about our auction line up and feel …

'Fight for Frank' to Help Former NFL Player Battling Brain Cancer

Frank Chamberlin played football for Mahwah High School, Boston College and in the NFL. The 34-year-old Wyckoff resident has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

If you’ve been to an area coffee shop, checked the Facebook status updates of your friends, or belong to local groups, you have likely been asked to ‘Fight for Frank.’ The organization was set up by a group of locals to help Wyckoff resident Frank Chamberlin, who friends say was the picture of fitness and health. Chamberlin played football at Mahwah High School, and upon his 1996 graduation went on to play for Boston College, and for five years in the NFL – for the Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans. Since his football days, Chamberlin has been working for KBW, a financial services firm in Manhattan. In January, Chamberlin, 34, suffered a seizure and collapsed at work.
