White Christmas May Be Seen in the Region

A weak storm front expected to bring up to two inches of snow starting Monday night.

Cross your fingers. As of Sunday, weather projections indicate a storm front entering the region that could give us—gasp—a white Christmas. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of snow on Tuesday, with a temperature ultimately reaching 38 degrees. Stephen Pellettiere, with Ion Weather based at the Morristown Municipal Airport, said current projections appear to have the small storm begin producing at about 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, tapering off at the latest 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. "A little storm is passing to our south," he said. "There's a tenth of an inch of moisture, which translates to about an inch of snow." Vote for Jerry and Wyckoff Schools Could Win $100K

His stunning Highland Avenue home was selected among entries from around the country in Patch's "Deck the House" competition.

If you experience a voltage drop around 4:30 p.m. don’t be too concerned about another power outage, it’s just Jerry Ghinelli's Christmas lights coming to life. This Highland Avenue resident has installed an estimated 150,000 lights on 11 separate 20 amp circuits and according to users voting in Patch's annual Deck the House contest, Ghinelli's home has the best holiday lights in Wyckoff or Franklin Lakes. We had tons of entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our national quest to find the most remarkable holiday decorations, this 28-year-Wyckoff resident's entry rose to the top. Santa Coming to Franklin Lakes

Ol' St. Nick dropping in on Franklin Lakes on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.

The Franklin Lakes Fire Department has once again called in a favor and scheduled the very busy Mr. and Mrs. Claus to stop by the Bender Court Fire House. On Sunday, Dec. 9, the department will host Santa and his lovely wife, and provide hot chocolate, cookies and presents to all the little boys and girls, according to Firefighter Joe Gallup. The Clauses are expected to arrive at headquarters at 2 p.m. and stay until 5 p.m.  "As a good will gesture, please offer a donation to the Red Cross for families affected by Hurricane Sandy. They have suffered unimaginable losses and are less fortunate than we are this Holiday Season," said Gallup. "These donations are desperately needed and sincerely appreciated."
