Wyckoff Fishing Derby Casts Off June 2

Township is looking for fishermen 14 yeard old and younger

The township and organizers from the 30th annual Fishing Derby are looking for young anglers to participate in a rain-or-shine event early next month. Historically the fishing derby brings out approximately 200 anglers and their parents to Zabriskie Pond Park for fishing and fun. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. and fishing runs from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Township officials ask that anyone participating refrain from using barbed hooks in order to cause less distress to the fish. Prizes will be awarded in three categories at the end of the catch-and-release event, with fish being measured by members of the Environmental Commission. For more info call 201-891-7000 ex. 101. At Couple's New Gym, A Dream to Achieve Realized

Joseph Branda and Alina Crisafulli's new business aims to help clients meet goals

When Joseph Branda opened his first fitness center in November 2009 it seemed like the culmination of more than a decade of hard work in the industry, but now after opening his second gym it appears Leverage may have been a stepping stone on his path to fine tuning a dream that has led him to JNA Fitness.  In his teens, Branda picked up a job at a gym in Ramsey and did everything from mopping floors to working the front desk before eventually becoming a personal trainer. He went to Ramapo College to study accounting, but it wasn't for him, he said — he had to follow his heart.       Then Branda found his calling and opened Leverage Fitness, a 2,000-square-foot warehouse in Wyckoff packed with racks of barbells, weight benches, a power rack…
