With an apparatus fleet of 10 vehicles and more than 70 members, it responds to all fire and rescue calls within Franklin Lakes, as well as providing assistance to neighboring towns. It serves a community of 11,000 people over nine square miles, with calls numbering approximately 500 per year. Kenny Knubel serves as Chief for 2011.

The Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps is comprised of over 40 dedicated people who live and work in Franklin…More Lakes. It provides ambulance service and pre-hospital care as well as stand-in service for community events, fires or other emergencies in town. Its goal is to provide professional emergency medical service without cost. The Ambulance Corps is located on Bender Court, across from the Fire Department.
Every volunteer is a certified EMT and must complete 120 of hours of training initially as well as an additional 48 hours every three years. The Ambulance Corps is always looking for new members. They must be at least 16 years old, certified in CPR and EMT and they must live or work in Franklin Lakes. Training can be provided at no cost. Visit its the website to view the application.
