TheMore department features Protection Fire Co. 1, at Scott Plaza, Community Engine Co. 2, on Wyckoff Avenue and Sicomac Engine Co. 3, on Sicomac Avenue, just south of Russell Avenue. It dates back to 1907, when Co. 1 was formed; Co. 2 was formed in 1938 and Co. 3 was established in 1943.

The Franklin Lakes Fire Department, founded in 1924, is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping neighbors andMore serving the community. With an apparatus fleet of 10 vehicles and more than 70 members, it responds to all fire and rescue calls within Franklin Lakes, as well as providing assistance to neighboring towns. It serves a community of 11,000 people over nine square miles, with calls numbering approximately 500 per year. Kenny Knubel serves as Chief for 2011.
