Lorrimer Sanctuary is a place to be enjoyed by all, as intended by Ms. Lucine L. Lorrimer when she bequeathed the property to the New Jersey Audubon Society in 1956. The sanctuary is open for walks, nature study, photography and classes to its members and to the public.

The Visitor Center building, which dates back to the late 1700's, houses displays and hands-on exhibits, a lecture room, a gift and book shop, and a winter bird feeding station. The self-guiding wooded trail system covers 14 acres of land. The most important rule at Lorrimer is that no plants or animals must ever be harmed, harrassed or removed. The Sanctuary is a popular site for school and scouting trips. There are also educational programs and birdwatching trips for adults. See the website for a listing of programs and fees. To schedule, call the business office during operating hours.
