Franklin Lakes Shred Day Friday

Mobile unit heading to the borough.

The borough is hosting a shred day this week. It released the following information about it on its website.

The Waste Management and the Borough of Franklin Lakes are sponsoring a mobile on-site residential document shredding program. Shred Day is scheduled for Friday9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Franklin Lakes Recycling Center, which is located at the Department of Public Works, 500 DeKorte Drive.

An on-site paper shredding truck will provide shredding for Franklin Lakes residents only. All received documents will be handled in a secure manner.

Residents will be provided the opportunity to observe their documents being shredded on-site. The mobile shredding truck will have a fully functional camera system that allows residents to observe the shredding operation. Shredding material can include tax returns, personal papers, old bills, cancelled checks, etc. You do not have to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands.
