Country Fair, Circus, Half-Marathon Top Weekend To-Do List

Long list of weekend activities in and around Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes. Did we forget something? Add it to the list!

It’s going to be a busy weekend in Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes, with several events happening each day. Check out a run down of things to do below.

Saturday

Country Fair

The Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat is hosting its 48th Annual Country Fair at Wyckoff’s Memorial Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday. According to a recent release about the event from the ECCR, this year’s fair will include games, electronic rides, pony rides, paint a pumpkin, make your own scarecrow, food, a live DJ, and over 80 local vendors selling arts, crafts, clothing, jewelry, and more.

Oktoberfest Festival

The first annual St Elizabeth's Church Oktoberfest Celebration is happening from 7 to 11 p.m. at St. Elizabeth's Field in Wyckoff. Celebrate this exciting fall festival with your neighbors and enjoy authentic German Food, Local Fare, Beer, Wine as well as Non Alcoholic Refreshments, Fun and Friends.

Saddle River Carnival

The traditional carnival is happening Friday and Saturday. The Ferris wheel, mini-coaster, scrambler, other rides, games, and eats will ensure a fun time for the whole family.

Sunday

Franklin Lakes Scenic Half-Marathon

The Wyckoff YMCA and Franklin Lakes Mayor’s Wellness Campaign are putting on the borough’s first-ever Scenic Half-Marathon. The inaugural event starts at 8 a.m., with check-in scheduled for 6:15 a.m.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Franklin Lakes Mayors Wellness Campaign and the Wyckoff Y's Pietro Maugeri Fund, which helps families navigate and survive the financial challenges of critical illness and injury.

According to a post on the borough’s website, the event will lead to some traffic delays. The route will wind throughout Franklin Lakes. DeKorte Drive will be temporarily closed from 6 to 8:15 a.m. Franklin Ave. from DeKorte Drive to Pulis Ave. and Pulis Ave. from Franklin Ave. to Old Mill Road will be temporarily closed from 8 to 8:20 a.m. There will be temporary traffic delays along the marathon route as motorists may be slowed or temporarily stopped along the course for runners to cross. 

Circus

The Franklin Lakes Lions Club is hosting the traveling Zerbini Circus on Sunday at McBride Field in Franklin Lakes. The show includes acts and events for kids and adults. There will be pony and camel rides also. 
Shows under the big top start at 1, 3, and 5 p.m.

Bergen Bike Tour

The Bergen Bike Tour will kick off from Darlington County Park in Mahwah Sunday morning. The Tour benefits the Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center and the Volunteer Center of Bergen County. In addition to the 50-, 25- and 10- mile routes for cyclists of every level, TD Bank will sponsor a Kids' Ride at the event.
