A Moral Look at 'The Walking Dead' Planned for Fans in Franklin Lakes

Panel discussion on the popular show is Sunday in Franklin Lakes.

What can zombies teach us about morals?

An event at Temple Emanuel in Franklin Lakes this weekend will seek to answer that question when it hosts a panel discussion on the moral implications of the AMC hit TV series, The Walking Dead.

According to a recent release from the temple, the free event, happening Sunday night at 7 p.m., will host a panel of prominent religious and community leaders “discussing moral absolutes raised in the show.”

The questions explored by the panel will be heavy ones - Is the sanctity of human life absolute?  What are the moral limitations to self-preservation?  Who is (or was) the moral voice of the show: Rick? Dale? Hershel?

Was Shane a murderer or misunderstood? What’s with the Governor?

Plus attendees will watch clips of the show on the big screen.

Reservations are suggested as seating is limited.  Please call the synagogue office at (201) 560-0200 or email office@tenjfl.org.
