Mayor to Address Resident Questions on High Mountain Housing Project

'Meet the Mayor' is happening Tuesday.

Franklin Lakes Mayor Frank Bivona will host a special event this week to update residents on a potential housing construction project at High Mountain Golf Course.

The borough announced via e-blast last week that Bivona’s “Meet the Mayor” session will happen Tuesday at 7 p.m. at town hall.

“There is no agenda for this session - it is intended to be a free-flowing discussion based on questions raised by residents,” the e-blast said.

“The Mayor will open the discussion with an update on the recently reported proposal for development of the High Mountain Golf Course.”

Reports broke last week that the borough reached a tentative agreement with a developer looking to build a high-density housing project on the golf course’s property.

The agreement reportedly cuts the number of units in the development – which would include single-family homes, condos, and affordable housing units – from 1,000 to 275.

Residents are encouraged to bring their questions about the development to Tuesday’s meeting.
