War Eagles Nominated for Guardians of the Gridirons Award

Online votes could help Franklin Lakes team win free equipment and an on-field recognition by the NY Giants.

The Franklin Lakes War Eagles football program might be $1,000 richer by the end of the month, if it can get enough online votes to win the Guardians of the Gridirons Award.

NRG, an energy company affiliated with the NY Giants, has partnered with USAFootball to honor youth sports teams in the tri-state area that have implemented Heads Up Football. The program promotes safety and awareness amongst football teams.

According to the NRG voting website, the awards are meant to recognize and reward teams that provide a safe, “quality football experience for young athletes in their local communities.”
