Reader Photo: Ramapo Cheerleaders Help Train Younger Team

Cheerleaders at all levels will be unified by a Breast Cancer Awareness move this month.

Cheerleaders at Ramapo High School are literally passing the baton to their younger counterparts.

On top of daily practices themselves, freshmen cheerleaders Cassidy DeMona, Katarina Douglas and Sydney Rosenblatt spend their spare time helping train Wyckoff’s A2 cheerleading team, made up of township fifth graders from Sicomac, Lincoln and Coolidge schools.

This month, both teams will be brought together by a cause. In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the girls will wear pink bows in their hair and pink shoe laces in their shoes at cheer events all month long. Cassidy DeMona made the pink bows.
