Ramapo's Osieja Signs with Quinnipiac

Ramapo High School's Matt Osieja commits to play baseball at Quinnipiac University

Quinnipiac has moved to snag a very talented commitment from the State of New Jersey with left-handed pitcher Matthew Osieja. He's considered a high follow on the national stage and topped out at 85 last summer.

Matt Osieja of Ramapo High School, has verbally committed to attend Quinnipiac University on scholarship to play baseball for the 2013 school year. Matt had multiple offers from other colleges, according to family members.

Osieja, a 5-foot-10, 185-pounder left handed pitcher, led Ramapo to the Big North Title and a berth in the Bergen County Semi-Finals. He received All Bergen County and All Big North Conference honors for 2012.

Matt has been playing club ball for Baseball U since last August. He recently was the winning pitcher, in the Semi-Final and Final, when the team won the NorthEast Qualifier No. 1 to earn a free bid to Jupiter, Fla., in October.

Matt was recently named to the All-American team by Perfect Game.
Matt’s acceptance letter came last week in the mail, and he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship Award for Academics.
