Jets RB Goodson Arrested on Gun, Drug Charges

The Irvington native signed a 3-year, $6 million contract with the Jets in March.

Jets running back Mike Goodson was sent to a Morris County jail following his arrest on drug and weapons charges in Denville Friday.

Goodson, 25, was the passenger in a GMC Yukon stopped in the left center lane of I-80 West when a tow truck came upon them and called 911 early Friday morning, according to multiple reports.

The tow truck driver reportedly was concerned about the intoxicated condition in which he found Goodson and the driver of the Yukon.

Goodson was transported to Saint Claire’s Hospital in nearby Boonton and eventually charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun, and possession of a hollow-point bullet, according to ESPN.

The driver of the SUV, Garant Evans, was hit with identical charges as well as a DUI charge, possession of a weapon with a prior felony conviction and other traffic summonses.

Goodson, an Irvington native who signed a three-year, $6 million contract with the Jets in March, was sent to jail on $50,000. 

A Jets spokesperson told the Daily News that the team is "aware of the report" and "gathering information."
