Former NY Giant Coming to Franklin Lakes Supermarket

The three-time Super Bowl champ will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans.

A former NY Giants center is coming to Franklin Lakes, thanks to a grocery store promotion that will have locals picking up photos and autographs.

The Stop & Shop on Franklin Avenue announced Thursday it will be hosting Bart Oates, who played center for the Giants from 1985–93 and with the San Fransisco 49ers from 1994-95.

Oates was a member of the Giants teams that won Super Bowls XXI and XXV and the 49ers team that won Super Bowl XXIX.

Since retiring from the NFL, Oates graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall Law School. He now lives in Harding Township, where he works in real estate.

The center is also part of Stop & Shop’s upcoming NFL tour campaign that spokespeople say will place 18 Alumni Players at Stop & Shops throughout the area over the next few months.

The events, “help reinforce our partnership as the official supermarket of the NY Giants,” a spokesperson said.

So, mark your calendars – Oates will be in Franklin Lakes next Saturday, September 7, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Fans can stop for autographed photos and pose for pictures with the Super Bowl Champ. Fans will be limited to one autographed item each and one photo per family.
