Wyckoff Public Schools Closing Early Friday

Forecasters are predicting anywhere between 6 inches and 3 feet of snow to fall Friday into Saturday.

Wyckoff Public School students, rejoice!

The winter storm named Nemo has forced Wyckoff to be added to the list of Bergen County schools such as Ridgewood and Paramus that are cutting students loose early on Friday in anticipation of progressively worsening weather.

In a message to parents and guardians late Thursday, Superintendent of the Wyckoff Public Schools Richard Kuder announced the scheduling change.

"Due to the impending storm, all Wyckoff Schools will follow an early release/minimum day schedule for Friday, Feb. 8. Please plan accordingly. Middle school students will be dismissed at 12:46 p.m. and elementary students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. Morning Preschool will meet at the regular time. Afternoon Preschool is canceled," he wrote.

"Due to the changing weather conditions, we will be evaluating our decision at 5:00 a.m. If it is necessary to change our decision to a full closing, you will be notified in the morning."

All after school and evening activities Friday, as well as recreation programs Friday evening and Saturday at Wyckoff Public Schools were also canceled, he wrote.
