Ramapo Indian Hills Seeking Public Input in Superintendent Search

District recently announced that after an unsuccessful Board-led search for a permanent superintendent, it has hired a firm to find one.

The Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education is seeking public input o what its next permanent Superintendent should be like.

The district recently announced several dates in which members of the school district and members of the community will be asked to share their thoughts on the ongoing search for a permanent Superintendent.

According to a release from the schools, the Board will host the following public sessions:

Members of the public can also fill out an online survey asking questions about the Superintendent position.

The top job in the district has been open since Lauren Schoen left in 2013 to take a Superintendent job in Mahwah. This year, Ernie Palestis has been serving as interim Superintendent.

Though the Board of Education initially opted to carry out its own Superintendent search for a permanent replacement, it recently hired a search firm to conduct the hiring process, reports says.

According to a NorthJersey.com report, it hired R-PAT Associates to conduct the search for $8,900.
