To The Editor:

I would like to thank the residents of Wyckoff for the trust you have placed in me to represent you on the School Board.  Please know that I will work hard on your behalf and do my part to ensure we continue to have a great education system for students, teachers and our community.  I would also like to thank the candidates who participated in this year’s Board of Education election. It demonstrates that a strong spirit of volunteerism and community are alive and well in Wyckoff when such qualified candidates compete for positions to serve our children and the residents of our great town.

I am filled with excitement to begin working on behalf of our schools and plan to spend the next two months speaking with many members of the community and reviewing key materials so I can hit the ground running in January.  My goal as a board member will be to find the right balance between advancing excellence in our schools for our students and teachers while doing this in a way that is responsible for taxpayers and all of Wyckoff.

Finally, I would like to thank my family and friends for their support in this endeavor. Over the last few weeks, I met so many great people who reminded me of the feeling my wife Dianne and I had when we first came to Wyckoff to find a home. It was the great sense of community that drew us to the town and it is why today we are proud to call Wyckoff our home and why I am proud to serve our town as a member of the School Board.

Signed,
John Carolan
