Franklin Lakes Superintendent Gets Top Job in Ridgefield

He will leave the borough this June, report says.

When current Franklin Lakes Superintendent Frank Romano leaves the district at the end of this year, he’ll be heading to Ridgefield, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, Roman will start at the K-12 district on July 1.

Romano announced at the end of last year that he would be leaving the borough’s K-8 school district when his current contract expires in June.

"The Board and I reached a point where we respectfully agreed to disagree and that makes it time for us to part ways for the sake of the school community," Romano told NorthJersey.com of his decision to leave.

In Ridgefield, he will replace interim Harry Groveman, a retired Saddle Brook Superintendent who came to Ridgefield 20 months ago when Robert Jack retired, the report said.

District officials told the paper they felt Romano, who has previously served as a teacher in Ramsey, curriculum assistant in Tenafly, and Assistant Superintendent in Fort Lee and Millburn, is a “good fit” for the district.
