Franklin Lakes Hosting 'Meet the New Superintendent' Event

Funari will officially take over the school district in July.

The Franklin Lakes Board of Education is hosting a "meet and greet" next week during which members of the community can meet the borough school district's incoming Superintendent.

According to an announcement from Board Vice President Shirley O'Reilly, the Board will host the event next Tuesday, May 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the FAMS Music Room.

"Please join the Board of Education...as we welcome our new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Lydia Furnari," O'Reilly said.

Light refreshments will be served, and a regular Board meeting will immediately follow the event.

Furnari is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the South Orange and Maplewood School District. She will begin in July, replacing outgoing Superintendent Frank Romano, who is headed to Ridgefield schools.
