FLOW Follies Looking for Volunteers

Scholarship organization needs people to start immediately to get the next year of work off the ground.

Have an itch for the stage, or a knack for production?

FLOW Follies, the parent-led theater group that raises thousands annually for student scholarships at the district’s two high schools—last year they distributed $40,500—is looking for volunteers for their upcoming year.

The script for next March’s production is still in the works, executive producer Carla Pappalardo said, and won’t be holding a casting call until November. But the volunteers necessary to get the production off the ground are needed in the near-term, she said.

“People that will be working on publicity and pulling the community in are going to be starting immediately,” she said.

The positions they look to fill immediately are a graphic designer to manage the ad journal and playbills, someone to take charge of as journal sales, a secretary to supervise mailings, and a webmaster.

“Any community member is welcome,” Pappalardo said, explaining that several volunteers in recent years have been Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, or Oakland residents without children in the school system that simply wanted to be involved.

“We’re always looking for people to get involved in big or small ways,” she said.
