Wyckoff Residents Shred 9,400 Pounds of Paper

Shred-Fest this weekend was free to residents.

Wyckoff residents can do a lot of shredding in three hours.

Saturday, the township held a free Shred-Fest for residents that resulted in a serious deposit to the recycling stream.

According to a release from the township, about 260 residents shred four-and-a-half tons of documents at the event. Residents were able to watch via video stream the 9,400 pounds of paper be shred. It was then transported to the Recycling Center.

Volunteers from Ramapo High School, the Environmental Commission, Wyckoff Green Team, CERT, and township committee all worked at the event.

The township is planning to host another similar event this fall.
