Wyckoff Named 'Tree City USA'

Township has now earned the distinction four times.

For the fourth year in a row, Wyckoff has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. According to a release from the township, it earned the distinction because of its “commitment to urban forestry.”

To become a Tree City, towns must meet certain requirements, including having a shade tree commission, a tree care ordinance, a community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

“Everyone benefits when elected officials, volunteers and committed citizens in communities like Wyckoff make smart investments in urban forests,” Arbor Day Foundation Chief Executive John Rosenow said in the release.
