Wednesday marks the 12th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and residents throughout the township and borough will be reflecting on what Patriot Day means for them.
Wyckoff township officials will gather with residents for a commemoration ceremony at 6:30 p.m. outside Fire Company 1. The ceremony will focus on honoring local lives that were lost on 9/11.
Over the years, Patch has spoken to local residents and businesses about the impact 9/11 has had on them. This year, it seeks to be a forum for reflection.
Residents have taken to social media to post their feelings on 9/11, writing messages like, “Not just another day,” and “Never Forget.” Resident Chris Mucklow Meyer posted a message on the Patch Facebook page, “I'll never forget. Eleven folks from my hometown lost their lives that day. God Bless all the people that are still dealing from their losses that horrific day.”
Patch is asking readers to create a live, online 9/11 reflection below by commenting with, thoughts, reflections memories, and messages they want to share. The comment stream below will continue to update with the 9/11 reflections of Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes residents.
