Planning Board to Review Franklin Ave. Corridor Study This Week

Study will analyze past, present and future of the borough's business district.

The Franklin Lakes Planning Board will hear a presentation of a study on the Franklin Avenue corridor at a special meeting Wednesday night.

According to borough administrator Greg Hart, the work was undertaken by the Trenton firm Clarke Caton Hintz, which received the approval to prepare the study in December 2012.

The board will hear an analysis of past zoning and planning, existing conditions, as well as future possibilities.

“It was really a reaction to a long-range issue of what we’d like to see in our downtown area,” Mayor Frank Bivona said.

He added that a main goal of the borough in having the study prepared was to gain a better understanding of the impact that the sewer project will have on the area’s business community.
