No Movement on Wyckoff ShopRite Lawsuit Since January

Several contested issues remain in multi-count lawsuit, report says.

No new decisions have been made in a multi-count lawsuit that will likely determine the fate of a ShopRite development on Greenwood Avenue in Wyckoff, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, the 19-count complaint, filed by Stop & Shop in March of 2013, takes issue with the township Planning Board’s approval of the plan for the supermarket’s development on a plot of land previously occupied by an A&P.

ShopRite has won two aspects of the case, but attornies say there has been no movement in the case since a Superior Court Judge heard a challenge on January 29.

The issues still being contested in the suit include buffering, pedestrian circulation, screening of off-street loading, signage and outside and overnight storage, NorthJersey.com reported.

The report did not indicate when the suit might move forward.

Wyckoff. Residents need to wake up and smell the greed. Stop & Shop cares about buffering and off loading as much as a Yankees fan cares about the Cubs. It is all about competition and Stop & Shop wants no part of that. They love their monopoly. If Wyckoff residents joined together and refused to step foot inside the store for a weekend perhaps Stop & Shop would get the message.

I say boycott them altogether. Go to the A&P in Ridgewood/Midland Park instead. It's a better store anyway (not as good as Shop Rite, but better than that miserable Stop and Shop). How pitiful and desperate they are.
