Franklin Lakes Garbage Collection Down to Once-a-Week

Franklin Lakes residents trash pick-up schedule is getting knocked down for the cooler months, the borough announced in an e-blast Tuesday. Starting October 1, trash pick-up will be reduced to once-a-week.

The e-blast detailed the following specifics:

Garbage Collection - Once a Week Starting October 1

Advanced Waste will be picking up garbage once a week from October through March.  Beginning October 1, there will be garbage collection once a week for all residents - Monday for those currently withMonday/Thursday collection and Tuesday for those currently withTuesday/Friday collection. During the months when there is only one collection day, if the collection day falls on a holiday, your garbage will be collected the next day following the holiday. There will be no change in the recycling collection schedule. 

Yard Waste Recycling

The collection of curbside Yard Waste will end on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Collection is on a Monday for residents with a Tuesday - Fridaygarbage schedule and on a Tuesday for residents with a Monday -Thursday garbage schedule. Yard Waste should be placed at the curb the night before a scheduled pick-up. No leaves, dirt, rocks, trees or tree stumps will be collected. Click here for additional information on Yard Waste Recycling. 

Leaf Compost Drop-Off Facility

The Leaf Compost Drop-off Facility located on DeKorte Drive across from the Police Station will open on weekends to receive leaves from residents only beginning October 19, 2013. No professional landscapers will be allowed to use this facility. The drop-off facility is open Monday throughFriday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM by appointment only.
