County Plans Paving Project on Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Border

Expect detour and traffic delays next week.

The borough of Franklin Lakes and township of Wyckoff have issued a warning to residents about an upcoming county paving project that is anticipated to cause delays next week.

Franklin Lakes officials posted the following on the borough website this week:

Bergen County officials have advised that Bergen County will mill and resurface Franklin Avenue from Wyckoff Avenue to the Franklin Lakes border starting Tuesday, May 6 and continuing through Thursday, May 8. Start and completion dates may be affected by weather conditions.

Construction will be performed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

No work is planned for evenings or weekends unless required by an emergency situation. Motorists traveling on Franklin Avenue should anticipate delays, plan for extra travel time and follow the detour or plan an alternate route. The speed limit through the detour roads and on most sections of Franklin Avenue is a maximum of 25 mph. Please drive safely and drive with caution.
