Wyckoff Swears In New Police Officer

River Edge resident is also a volunteer EMT.

The following was submitted to Patch by the Wyckoff Police Department.

A River Edge resident was sworn in as a Probationary Police Officer in Wyckoff Tuesday night.

Robert Schlossberg, a resident of River Edge is a March 2014 graduate of the Passaic County Police Academy under the Alternate Route program. A graduate of River Dell High School, he went on to Seton Hall University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

Rob currently works in a family owned construction business. Well rooted within their community, his Mom and Dad instilled in Rob a “giving back” ethic with many family members committed to volunteer services within their town. He was a previous member of the River Edge Fire Department, and in 2006 he left the fire department to join the River Edge Ambulance Corps which was experiencing staffing shortages. He continues to serve the ambulance corps and is EMT certified.

Ambitious and working hard to obtain his goals, Rob was selected for hire through a competitive process. Following about seven weeks of training with a Field Training Officer, Rob will be assigned to patrol duties.
