Wyckoff Swears in New Police Officer

Ryan Noon will hit the streets as the newest addition to the Wyckoff force.

Wyckoff swore in a new police officer Tuesday night, adding a fresh face to fill one of the vacancies to be left by three officers retiring this year.

Ryan Noon, 28, now a resident of Midland Park, grew up in Wyckoff and is a graduate of Ramapo High School. He got his start with the Wyckoff police in 2008, when he joined the department as a dispatcher.

"Good people have been groomed by our department, by our chief up through the ranks of from dispatcher," Committeeman Kevin Rooney said of the new appointment at Noon's swearing in Tuesday night.

Noon graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in information technology, and with certifications as an EMT and CPR intstructor, has also served in the Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Noon graduated from the Passaic County Police Academy, where he was class president, and joined the William Paterson University Police Department in 2012.

He joins the force as a probationary patrolman, and will undergo field training with the department.
