Wyckoff Police Say Streets Too Dangerous For Friday Trick-or-Treating
Damaged power lines still a threat as repairs continue
Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox asked that local parents keep their children inside Friday night instead of celebrating a late Halloween with trick-or-treating as some residents have advocated.
According to Fox, the police department and town hall have been getting many calls this week about a rumor that Halloween was rescheduled for Friday. This rumor may have been started by an announcement from Franklin Lakes earlier this week that the borough was postponing trick-or-treating until Friday.
However, damaged power lines are still down around the township and pose a threat to trick-or-treaters, Fox said.

"It would be irresponsible to think that this township would endorse a situation which would have children running the streets and other properties, all in search of free candy," he said.
Some Wyckoff parents used social media websites to organize in local school and church parking lots Monday.
