Wyckoff Police Receive State Grant for Drunk Driving Law Enforcement
The money will fund overtime patrols to find intoxicated drivers
Wyckoff Police will be working overtime to crack down on drunk drivers starting later this month.
The police overtime will be paid for by a $4,400 grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety as a part of the state's "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" campaign. Police will run DWI checkpoints and have extra roving patrols starting August 19 and continuing through September 5.
Police will be using high-visibility enforcement across the county in order to help raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. The end of the summer, including Labor Day, is one of the busiest travel times of the year.
