Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff Police Department Blotter

The following arrests were reported by the Franklin Lakes Police Department and the Wyckoff Police Department. An arrest is not a conviction. All were released pending a court date unless otherwise indicated. 

Franklin Lakes:

July 18

As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Franklin Avenue, Cooper Rego, age 35 of New City, NY, was arrested on outstanding warrants emanating out of the Paramus, Weehawken and Alpine Municipal Courts. Officers Gerard Gansel and William Zangara investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop at 1:40pm on Ewing Avenue, Pedro LaCruz, age 20 of Franklin Lakes, NJ, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, improper passing and failure to have vehicle inspected. Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Jost, Officer Donald Wilson, and Officer Gregory Albert investigated.


Wyckoff:

July 20 

At 8:23am, Patrol Officer Mark Tagliareni observed a man walking the railroad tracks near Franklin Avenue. The subsequent investigation determined that the man was attempting to walk out west by following railroad tracks. Justin E. Burton, Los Angeles, California, age 37, was charged with defiant trespass and providing false information pertaining to his name and address. He was released and the charges will be heard in municipal court.

July 22

A 44-year-old Wyckoff woman and her 40-year-old husband were both arrested and charged with assault following a domestic violence incident. Sergeant Michael DeMaio and Patrol Officer Robert Schlossberg investigated the complaint in which both individuals had become involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. They both struck each other and caused head injuries. They were charged with assault and each released under $1,000 bail.
