Wyckoff Police Badges Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

If you see a Wyckoff police officer this month, you will notice several changes to his or her uniform.

The Wyckoff Police Department is going pink.

According to a release from Chief Benjamin Fox, all of the township's officers will be wearing pink bands on their badges and pink ribbons on their uniforms in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The PD's new accessories will be worn throughout October, "as a show of support for Breast Cancer awareness to encourage early detection and find a cure for this terrible disease," Fox said in the release.

The pink badge bands were handmade from rubber bands by 8-year-old Sara Tully, daughter of Wyckoff Police Officer Tom Tully.

The Wyckoff PBA purchased the breast cancer ribbons and made a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Wyckoff's "officers are proud to highlight the need for funding and research for breast cancer," Fox said in the release.

"Their participation was made even more special when the young daughter of one of the officers made the band that each officer is wearing."
