Wyckoff Police Charge Former Doctor With Burglaries

Wyckoff Police said they found stolen bikes, decorations and a laptop in the woman's home.

A former doctor who practiced medicine in her house without a license was responsible for a series of burglaries in the area around her Crescent Avenue home, Wyckoff Police said.

Lisa Cannon, 46, was arrested Friday and charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of theft of property from the exterior of a residence, two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of practicing medicine without a license, police said.

Cannon held a medical license until June, when she was listed as inactive.

According to a police report, Cannon had a stolen laptop, bicycles and outdoor decorations, including patio furniture and a large terra cotta planter in her home. She had also been selling 50/50 raffle tickets to support a nonexistent organiztion, according to police.

She was committed to Bergen County Jail in default of a $50,000 bail.

She was a beautiful person inside and out with family and friends that adore her. She is suffering from a very serious mental breakdown. Please keep her and her wonderful children in your prayers.

Well maybe you wouldn't be saying this about her if you were one of her victims!

I agree with the first comment. Being a patient and friend I feel that everyone is entitled to a second chance. She is a wonderful person with a loving and supportive family.

It was obvious to me when reading the article and even before the comment was made by someone who knows the family, that this woman has a mental illness. Please don't pass judgement on this family. They are our neighbors and I assume doing their best to handle the situation. They have my sympathy as well as my wishes that they can get her the help and care she needs. Phyllis Lasser
