Wyckoff Officers Recognized by MADD

High DWI conviction rate cited for recognition.

On Wednesday the State chapter of MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving) honored police officers and State Troopers from all over New Jersey for their individual efforts in the enforcement of drunk driving laws.

Among the honorees were Wyckoff officers Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Ptl. Brian Zivkovich, who each received certificates and congratulatory letters from the MADD organization. Wyckoff Chief of Police Benjamin C. Fox said the officers have the highest DWI arrest statistics in the department, and congratulated them on the recognition.

“They both consider drunk driving to be a very serious offense” said Fox in a statement. “They recognize that a drunk driver, in an instant, can change the life of himself or others. It’s a deadly combination to have too much to drink and then get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Both Sgt. Ragucci and Ptl. Zivkovich go to work each day with the attitude that if there is a drunk driver in their town, they will seek them out and arrest them. That enforcement commitment serves to saves lives in Wyckoff."
