Wyckoff Fire Department Seeking New Members

Volunteers responded to 580 emergency calls last year.

The is currently seeking additional volunteers to become new members.

So far this year, Wyckoff firefighters have responded to more than 600 emergencies, according to Chief Mike Rose. There are also other positions that volunteers can fill, including traffic control and the communications desk. Fire Department members also participate in many community events, including Safety Town for incoming kindergarten students, the annual Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome awareness and Toys for Tots each December.

All members of the department are trained for free at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah. Any high school graduate 18 years old or older can join the department.

Anyone interested in joining the Wyckoff Fire Department can stop by one of the three companies on Monday nights at 7:30. Company 1 is behind , Company 2 is on Wyckoff Avenue near Grandview Avenue and Company 3 is on Sicomac Avenue.
