Wyckoff Cops Investigating Attempted Break-In of Vacationing Family's Home

Incident on Cedar Hill Avenue comes after a successful burglary and a break-in arrest over the past few weeks.

Wyckoff police are investigating what they say was an attempted break-in while a township family was away on vacation, Chief Benjamin Fox announced in a recent release.

According to cops, on June 23, a friend of a Cedar Hill Avenue resident who was watching the house while the family was away reported reported a failed burglary at the house. Responding officers found a screen removed from a rear window of the house, and an unsuccessful attempt has been made to pry open the window, Fox said.

The attempt is the latest in a string of similar incidents police have reported in Wyckoff, including a break-in at a Bridal Path home and a recent arrest of an alleged burglar spotted by an alert neighbor.
