Vehicle Stops Lead to Two Heroin Arrests in Wyckoff

Heroin found during two separate DWI arrests, according to police.

Residents from Wyckoff and Oakland were charged with possession of heroin following two separate motor vehicle stops in the township recently, according to police.

On July 30, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Officer Mark Tagliareni approached a suspicious vehicle parked near the basketball courts at Memorial Field. The officer found its occupant, Robert DeFranco II, 21, of Wyckoff, to be under the influence of narcotics, according to police.

A drug recognition officer determined that DeFranco was under the influence of heroin, and a search turned up a small amount of the drug, Chief Benjamin Fox said.
