Unlocked Mercedes Stolen from Franklin Lakes Golf Club
The high-end car was left unlocked for the five hours before it was reported stolen, police said.
A Little Falls resident returned to the car from the High Mountain Golf Club on Ewing Avenue Friday to find his car stolen, Franklin Lakes Police said in a release Tuesday.
Between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, the owner of the 2013 Mercedes CLS 550 left the doors to the car unlocked with a key in the glove compartment, police said. The retail price of the car is approximately $72,000.
The theft follows a string of high-end car thefts in April, during which three cars were stolen from Franklin Lakes homes over the same weekend.
